The personal registration administrates a couple of things, like:

• The registration of dwellings
• The issue of copies of official Dutch documents
• The loss and found of identity cards
• The issue of taxi permits
• The issue of official written documents from the Gemeentelijk Basisadministratie Persoonsgegevens
• Votes and referenda
• The changes in personal information.

In English the Dienst persoonsgegevens is called the Personal registration.
